THINK PLASTIC
A short environmental documentary film in development.
Do you care about plastic pollution? Well, I did not. Until I met Julien who came from Senegal to save Scotland from plastic. Watch his story and my story of terrible realization in my film. Don’t be like me before, think plastic!
Currently, I am working on my graduation film - a short environmental documentary about Julien who came from Senegal to save Scotland from plastic pollution. He lives in Durness, in the very north of Scotland, where he monitors the coasts of Scotland, recycles and upcycles plastic that he finds on beaches and creates plastic art from it. He has invented a special recycling machine and now talks to the government about how to prevent plastic pollution even happening.
The story of the film is about me, a not very 'environmental' student Richard, who goes on a roadtrip with his Slovak friends and comes across Julien who then shows Richard the polluted beaches and how he deals with the issue. Julien converts Richard who then, after he comes back to Edinburgh, starts to care about plastic pollution (e.g. starts shopping in Zero Waste Corner, stops using disposable plastic cutlery, etc.).
The film would be spread online on YouTube and through the University of Edinburgh social media as a part of the #ZeroWaste UoE campaign, it would be screened at environmental film festivals, etc.
